PH/06/18 Minutes
Decision
To approve as a correct record, the Minutes of the meeting held on 1 June, 2006 subject to the inclusion of Councillor Fender's interest in applications 076755 & 076756 and that he left the room while the matter was discussed.
PH/06/19 Deferrals
The Chair requested approval of the Committee for the following deferrals:
078081: Land adjacent to Colmore Drive, Blackley, Crumpsall Ward, to allow for notices to be served;
078211: Aldi Foodstore Ltd., 674 Wilmslow Road, Withington Ward, to allow for further consideration of issues within the report.
Decision
To approve the deferrals for the reasons stated.
Decisions taken under Delegated Powers
PH/06/20 Applications for permission for development
Reports of the Head of Planning were submitted in relation to various applications for planning permission. Late representations were also submitted in respect of individual applications, and further late representations were reported at the meeting. The Committee heard representations made by objectors/applicants/local councillors in relation to applications 076755, 076756, 077553, 079189, 078513, 078650 and 078305.
Decision
To approve the following applications, in accordance with the reasons put forward by the Head of Planning in his report and any late representations, and subject also to the conditions proposed in his report or in the late representations submitted:
076755: Blossom Street, Ancoats and Clayton Ward. and 076756
Erection of 2 x four/five storey buildings comprising 135 residential units (including 25 townhouses) 180 sq metres retail units (classes A3/A4) with associated parking, landscaping and public realm area. Demolition of Smiths Arms Public House, and Conservation Area Consent for demolition of existing buildings, including the Smiths Arms Public House in connection with the re-development of the site. (Subject to an extra condition relating to consultation with local people)

077553: Former Car Sales Site, 9-11 Old Market Street, Crumpsall Ward*
Residential development comprising 2, four storey buildings to provide 32 two bedroom apartments, with 32 ancillary car parking spaces and with vehicular access from Old Market Street.
079189: 14 Arnfield Road, Withington Ward
Retrospective application for the re-siting of a single storey side extension and erection of a first floor rear extension, previously approved under application 074373.
078513: Slug and Lettuce, 651 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury East Ward
Variation of condition No. 5 (attached to application 051032) to permit the premises to open from 9.00am till 00.30am on Sundays to Thursdays and 9.00am till 1.00am on Fridays and Saturdays. If, pursuant to a review, the Council as Licensing Authority considers the conditions attached to the premises' licence, planning officers will make a relevant representation, if suitable evidence is available.
078650: The Pear Tree, 653 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury East Ward
Variation of condition No. 5 (attached to application 051032) to permit the premises to open from 8.00am to Midnight on Sundays to Thursdays and 8.00am till 1.00am on Fridays and Saturdays.
078305: Hogs Head, 653a Wilmslow Road, Didsbury East Ward
Variation of condition No. 5 (attached to application 051032) to permit the premises to open from 10.00am till 11.30pm on Sundays to Thursdays and 10.00am till 01.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.
