Manchester City Council

Flying the flag for park quality

Friends of Philips Park celebrated the renewal of the Green Flag quality status for the Clayton park by raising the flag.

In July Manchester City Council was named as the council with the most Green Flags for its parks in England and Wales for the second year running, adding another four Green Flags to make a total of 21.

Councillor Mike Kane, Executive member for Arts & Leisure, said: "Green Flags are an immense source of local pride and we are ambitious to have even more for our city parks."
