Tell us about your quality of life!
20 November 2007
What do you think about your quality of life?
Mori North will be asking that question of 20,000 Mancunians, to be selected by random sample.
We are looking for a snapshot of how you feel about your life, your happiness, and your sense of attachment to your local area, to Manchester and to the UK. Most importantly, we want to know how you feel about living in Manchester.
The survey, the first since 2004, is to be carried out by one of Britain's leading polling companies, for Manchester City Council, on behalf of the Manchester Partnership. It aims to find out what local residents think about the quality of life in the city.
Questions relate to a wide range of issues affecting your local area, including levels of crime and safety, anti-social behaviour, and cultural activities. It will also canvas your views on public transport and how much influence you believe you have on the decision making process.
Sir Richard Leese, Chair of the Manchester Partnership, said: "This survey's very important because it's a chance to tell us how satisfied you are and how well you feel we are dealing with the issues which matter to you most, such as litter, anti-social behaviour and local transport.
"We really hope that all those who are picked as part of the random survey will take the time to complete the forms and feed back their views. It's only by knowing how satisfied you are that we know where we are doing well and where we need to do better. By telling us how you feel you are influencing what we do in the future."
Recipients will have a fortnight to complete a multi-choice questionnaire which will be sent out and returned by free post. It should take just 10 minutes to fill out and forms are available in large print or in other languages if required.
All those questioned will be Manchester residents, aged 18 and over.
