New Year Consultations

Manchester City Council is consulting around the possibility of holding an official New Year celebration in the city.

Following public and media interest, Manchester City Council will be asking public services, local businesses and residents for their feedback between 25 February and 7 March 2008.

Councillor John Flanagan, Chair of the Communities and Neighbourhoods Overview, and Scrutiny Committee said: "There are number of important issues including public health & safety, economic benefits and costs, which need to be considered and we welcome the points and opinions of local people and businesses as part of this process."

Comments should include whether you would like an official New Year celebration in the city and what type of event you think it should be, suggestions on how any celebrations should be funded and whether or not you would attend.
