Lord Mayor’s Christmas Party
1 December 2008
Local school children will get an early Christmas treat at a special party held just for them at Manchester Town Hall on Tuesday 2 December.
They will be guests of honour at the Lord Mayor of Manchester's Christmas Party in the Town Hall, which has become an annual event for youngsters in the city to celebrate the festive season.
They will meet characters Barbie, Mr Bump and Harry Boy, who have been supplied courtesy of The Entertainer toy shop, while the popular cartoon Attend Ants will also be dropping in to see the children and join in the fun.
Century Radio's Big Breakfast presenters Ditchy & Salty, will call in to the party for some festive fun while magician Norman Tinsel will keep the children captivated with his spell-binding, mind-boggling tricks.
The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Mavis Smitheman said: "I am so excited for the Christmas Party and to meet all the children who'll be coming along. It's so magical to see the kids' faces light up and I can't wait for them to see what a great day we've got planned."
The children will also be posting their letters to Santa in specially created post boxes outside the Town Hall, which guarantees their gift lists will be received by Father Christmas in plenty of time for 24 December.
The Lord Mayor's Christmas Party takes place on Tuesday 2 November 11.30am - 2.00pm.
