European Elections: North West political parties and individual candidates confirmed

The full list of political parties and individual candidates for the forthcoming European Parliamentary Elections has been published today.

12 parties and 1 individual candidate will contest the elections in the North West on Thursday June 4 which will choose the region's eight Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).

Manchester residents are being reminded that they have until Tuesday 19 May to ensure they are on the electoral register if they wish to vote. Residents are not automatically on the register because they pay Council Tax or have other dealings with the council.

To check whether they are already on the register, or request an application form to be added, residents should contact the City Council's Electoral Services Unit on 0161 2343145 or via e-mail at esu@manchester.gov.uk - applications need to be received by 5pm on 19 May for people to be eligible to vote in the European Parliamentary Elections.

Anyone who is on the electoral register can choose to vote by post. Applications for a postal vote in the forthcoming European Parliamentary Elections must also be received by the City Council's Electoral Services Unit by no later than 5pm on 19 May.
