Extra places at St Agnes CE Primary School
22 July 2009
Extra places are to be created at St Agnes CE Primary School, Longsight from this September to meet growing local demand for school places.
The admission number at the school will be increased from 30 pupils to 45 with effect from 1st September. This will create an extra fifteen places in the Reception year group at the school, and will, over time, as these extra pupils move upwards through the school, increase the overall size of the school from 210 pupils to 315.
The number of places in the school nursery will also be increased this September from 30 to 45 places.
Councillor Sheila Newman, Executive Member Children's Services, Manchester City Council, said: "We are responding to the growing local demand for school places in this area. Increasing the number of places at the school will ensure that more children living nearby will be able to go to this popular and successful school that now boasts a stunning brand new building, equipped to the very highest standards."
