Bags of romance at Valentine’s Market

Published Wednesday 3rd February 10

For anyone stuck for gift ideas that won’t break the bank this Valentine's Day, the Valentine's Market in Piccadilly Gardens on 12 and 13 February is the place to be.

It is the perfect place to pick up something different, thoughtful and original.

Products on sale at the stalls include gift boxes of custom made cookies by the Custom Cookie Company, luxury aromatherapy products by Pure Indulgence, glass art and jewellery from Glass2Die4, handmade clothing and accessories by Woodchip Boutique.

There will also be unusual and individual Valentine's cards on offer and the Real Food Market traders will be on hand offering suggestions for ingredients needed to whip up that perfect candlelit dinner-for-two with fabulous fresh fish and meat, naughty puddings and all their usual culinary delights.

For traditional romantics there is also the Flower Market right next door, with its great selection of freshly cut bunches, bouquets and Bonsai Trees.

Councillor Paul Andrews, Manchester City Council's executive member for neighbourhood services said: "The Valentine's Market is a welcome addition to the city centre every year and is extremely popular with shoppers looking for unusual and interesting gifts. The market offers excellent quality with good value and is well worth a visit for anyone looking for a special gift for their loved one or for anyone simply wanting to treat themselves."

Manchester Valentine's Market, Piccadilly Gardens. Friday 12 February and Saturday 13 February 10am until 5.30pm.
