Street dance, bouncy castles and bobbies on the beat

Cycling, street dance, circus skills and football are just some of the activities on offer during a week-long respect event in Longsight and Gorton.
The Respect Action Week will focus on the Northmoor and Hemmons Road areas between 16 and 21 March.
On Tuesday 16 March and Thursday 18 March between 5pm and 7pm there will be door knocking exercises to consult residents about their priorities for the area. From 7pm - 10pm on Tuesday and Thursday there will be high visibility patrols with police officers, PCSOs, staff from Manchester City Council and social housing landlords.
On Wednesday 17 March between 9.30 am and 11.30 am there will be a women's cycling session in Crowcroft Park. This gives women the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike and build their confidence in a safe setting. On Wednesday and Friday evenings between 5pm and 7pm there will be football in the park for 10-16 year olds.
On Saturday morning (March 20) there will be a big community clean-up and residents will be able to dispose of large, bulky household items. On Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm there will be a family event at St Richard's Parish Centre on Sutcliffe Avenue in Longsight with, street dance, face painting, circus skills and free refreshments.
The finale on Sunday will include a 5-a side football tournament, fun bus and bouncy castle at Crowcroft Park and a dance session for women at Northmoor Community Centre.
Manchester City Council's Deputy Leader, Councillor Jim Battle said: "The main focus of the week is to talk to residents and work with them to improve their neighbourhoods. Alongside all the activities available there will also be information and advice to help people keep themselves and their homes safe."
