Heaton Park goes back to the eighties

15 July 2010

Get your ra-ra skirts, leg warmers and stonewashed denim at the ready. Heaton Park is going back to the eighties.

The big 80s summer party at Heaton Park is the ultimate summer celebration with live performances from Tony Hadley, Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle, ABC and Go West on Saturday 14 August.

It has been confirmed this week that 80s & 90s soul sensation Mica Paris will now also be performing at the concert.

Set against the backdrop of Heaton Park's stunning scenery it's a night to let your hair down and take a trip down memory lane with friends and family.

Heaton Park is fast becoming a favourite choice for live performances and big-name acts as its size and capacity is perfect for large-scale events.

Councillor Mike Amesbury, Manchester City Council's executive member for culture and leisure said: "We host a varied programme of events at Heaton Park and the 80s Summer Party is a welcome addition. It's going to be a really fun night out with a great line-up of eighties favourites who I'm sure will get everyone dancing and singing along to their classic songs of yesteryear."

The concert will take place in the event's field at the centre of the park and will finish in spectacular style with a firework finale.

Gates open at 5pm with artists on stage from 7.15pm.

Tickets cost £32.50 with a discount for children aged between five and 15 years of just £15. Under fives are free with no ticket required.
