New Moston library set for refurb
30 December 2010
New Moston library will close in the New Year for refurbishment.
The library will be closed from 5pm, 22 January 2011 until 28 February, 2011.
The work is part of Manchester City Council's commitment to invest in its library buildings and will feature a full redecoration, new carpets, changes to the lighting scheme and some new furniture.
A mobile library will service the site every Monday until the reopening, between 10.45 and 5.30pm.
Councillor Mike Amesbury, Manchester City Council's Executive Member for Culture and Leisure, said: "The refurbishment of New Moston Library is really good news and I hope it will encourage new users to visit and use the facilities. We have already seen large increases of library users this year and we hope this continues.
"Manchester Council is undertaking extensive improvements of libraries across the city and we are committed to providing a quality service and a useful resource for the community."
