A world of information at your fingertips thanks to Manchester Libraries
6 January 2011
Archives from the Guardian and Observer newspapers are the latest additions to a growing list of publications Manchester library members can access without setting foot out of their homes.
There's a wealth of information that members can access on-line through the library website. The Oxford Biblical Studies and Oxford Islamic studies, along with Oxford reference, Encyclopedia Britannica, a whole range of dictionaries and Who's Who along with news archives from the Times Digital Archive and Newsbank.
You can also prepare for your driving theory test on-line or practice the citizenship test, stream music at the Naxos Music Library and download books and audio books. And library members can access up to two hours of Wi-fi at the City Library.
Manchester City Council's Executive Member for Culture and Leisure Councillor Mike Amesbury said: "These are fantastic services available to all library members. All the material is reliable, high quality information and as the library pays the subscription charge, it's also free."
If you are a library member you just have to log on to the Libraries web site and key in your ticket number and PIN. If you're not already a library member you can also join on-line at:
