Free entertainment as busking stage returns to Piccadilly Gardens

Following the success of last year’s busking stage in Piccadilly Gardens, it’s set to return this Friday 25 March.
Organised by Piccadilly Partnership in conjunction with The Manchester College, 13 acts all featuring young people aged 16-19 years, some in bands and others as solo artists, will perform from 12pm - 4pm.
The Manchester-based students, who are all in their 1st and 2nd year, studying for a national diploma in music technology and music performance, will mainly perform guitar, indie rock.
Alex King, Piccadilly Partnership Manager said: "It will be great to bring live music to the gardens and recognition of Manchester's musical culture. Piccadilly Gardens lends itself perfectly to hosting public events creating a friendly and inviting place. This initiative is part of our long-term commitment to ensuring Piccadilly will once is the vibrant heart of the city."
Rose Durbin, music tutor at The Manchester College, commented: "After the success of October's event the students are really keen to perform live again. It's great exposure for them and some got radio airplay and press interest last time which was fantastic."
Max Lees, who plays with up-and-coming Manchester indie band Where's Strutter, will perform with Hybrid Green.
