Moss Side housing scheme wins national excellence award

A housing development in Moss Side, Manchester, has been named 'Best Affordable Housing Scheme' in the country at the annual Housing Excellence Awards.

The 'Infusion' development in Moss Side won the coveted title from judges last week at the eighth annual Housing Excellence Awards event. The Awards highlight and reward those who are leading the way in the social housing sector.

'Infusion' is the first part of a £17m regeneration scheme that will see 64 Victorian homes being carefully renovated and converted for sale in the Bowes Street area of Moss Side, along with the update and improvement of a further 79 privately owned properties.

The homes boast stylish kitchens, Italian tiling in the bathrooms, solid oak internal doors and energy-efficient eco features such as solar panels, sun pipes and thermal insulation.

Since the launch of 'Infusion' earlier this year, the development's sales office has been inundated with interest from homebuyers. Sixty per cent of the development - 42 properties - sold in just eight weeks.
