Manchester Libraries host events for future tycoons during Global Entrepreneurship Week

Manchester's Business & IP Centre is marking Global Entrepreneurship Week by presenting a wide range of events at libraries across the city for anyone who is interested in starting their own business.

Highlights include a free live screening of ‘Question Time’, with attendees given the chance to ask their own questions to a panel of business experts.

The event, a beamback from the British Library in London, is at Central Library on Monday 14 November (6.15-9pm) and offers attendees the chance to quiz top entrepreneurs Helen Pattinson (Montezuma’s chocolate),Simon Devonshire (founder of business start-up accelerator Wayra) and Edwina Dunn, co-founder of customer science firm DunnHumby. Local entrepreneur Corin Bland, founder of High Peak Beer and the bar Bottle, will be on hand to give his tips before the screening.

Or join in ‘Protect Your Assets!’ - a fast and fun speed-mentoring session at Central Library, which offers the opportunity to speak to advisors and experts who can help budding entrepreneurs to prepare and protect their new business ideas (Thursday, 17th November, 5.30 – 7pm).

A host of other events are taking place during Global Entrepreneurship Week (14 – 20 November), at libraries across the city. Go to http://manchesterbipc.eventbrite.com for more information and to book.

Executive Member for Culture and Leisure, Councillor Luthfur Rahman, said: “Whether you have a great business idea, are just starting up, or are in the process of getting your enterprise established, have a look at what’s on offer for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2016.
