Manchester stands alongside Stockholm following Friday’s attack

Manchester Town Hall will be lit in the colours of the Swedish flag – blue and yellow – from dusk today as Manchester stands in solidarity with Sweden.

A book of condolence has been opened at Manchester Town Hall for members of the public to write messages of support to Sweden, and to those who lost their lives in Stockholm.

An online book of condolence is also available – www.manchester.gov.uk

Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council, said: “It’s with another heavy heart that we hear of the attack in Stockholm. Our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives on Friday, and also with each and every person caught in the incident.

“Mindless attacks like this continue to shock the world and it remains more important than ever that we stand united against the forces of evil, and rally against terror with love, harmony and respect.”
