About Debdale Outdoor Centre

Debdale Outdoor Centre is a modern purpose-built outdoor centre owned and operated by Manchester City Council. We provide an exciting range of activities in Greater Manchester and further a field in the Peak District, North Wales and North West England.

The Centre caters for a wide variety of people from all ages and educational abilities, with the emphasis being on practical learning and appropriate theory lessons integrated into our courses.

Activities available include dinghy sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking, powerboating, rock climbing, abseiling, hill walking, gorge scrambling, orienteering, camping, navigation, multi-activity and team-building activities.

We have courses available for adults and children, individuals and groups, at various levels from easy to advanced. All staff are fully qualified and experienced. Our courses are structured to promote your learning in a safe and enjoyable environment.

What to wear

For our watersport courses, we do recommend you bring a spare pair of trainers (which will get wet), swimwear, a spare t-shirt and a towel. The centre are able to provide wetsuits.

For any indoor climbing activities, please wear suitable flat shoes and a tracksuit (no skirts or high heels).
