By Post

We are now able to offer a postal service for copies from the microfilms of some parish registers. To find out whether we hold the microfilm copies of registers of a particular parish please check this church register guide (microfilms are listed as MFPR).

We cannot accept orders for copies from pre-printed registers:

  • pre-1813 for baptisms and burials
  • pre-1754 for marriages
  • all pre-1837 Nonconformist registers

Copies are only supplied if the precise church name (e.g. Hulme St Paul) and date (day and month as well as year) are quoted. Copies (including p & p) cost:

  • £2.50 (A4)
  • £2.80 (A3)
  • Postage is an extra £2 for addresses outside the UK.

Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to "Manchester City Council". If you wish to place an order please print out, complete and return this form, with the correct payment in sterling, to: Manchester Archives and Local Studies, Central Library, St Peter's Square, Manchester, M2 5PD.
