Community Engagement
Place Survey
Every 2 years the Council asks residents and businesses how they feel about Council services. Feedback from this survey informs city-wide priorities and how we spend money. This is one of the tools we use to get your views.
The full report on the 2007/8 Place Survey, including a Ward based analysis is available fo you to access.
During the survey, thousands of residents and businesses are asked what they think about different Council services and about how they feel about the city and their local area. This work provides us with reliable measures of opinion from stakeholders.
Other research, with more hard to reach groups, adds richer meanings to the large-scale surveys. The results of the survey directly influence the priorities of Members and officers, and are linked to the budget process, the Council's Aims and Objectives and Departmental Business Plans.
We always try to make sure that we tell the people who have been consulted what we have done with the results. We may do this on the web, or through newsletters, the city newspaper Manchester People, or sometimes through a personal mailing.
