Manchester City Council

The Environmental Business Pledge is a unique initiative developed to help Manchester Businesses to improve their environmental performance, reduce their carbon footprint and achieve major cost savings.

In partnership with Groundwork, and the Environment Agency (external sites), Manchester City Council have created a portfolio of free services designed to suit all types of Manchester businesses, large or small. The services available support businesses in understanding environmental legislation and addressing environmental issues such as recycling, energy consumption and waste management.

The scheme is designed to reward and recognise those companies doing their bit to increase their green credentials and improve the city's environment. Manchester City Council is asking the city's businesses to make a simple pledge to look at their operations and make steps to improve their environmental performance.

In return for this commitment, the Environmental Business Pledge gives businesses the opportunity to gain Bronze, Silver and Gold recognition awards for their achievements.
