The Clock Tower tour offers you a unique opportunity to climb the spiral staircase of Manchester's most iconic building and see the movement of the clock that has kept Manchester in time for 133 years. The Clock Tower rises to 85 metres (281 feet 6 inches) and houses Great Abel, the hour bell. An official guide will lead you on this fascinating tour where you will discover the history of Manchester's Clock Tower. On the tour, you will visit the ringing room, mechanism room and enter the dial room behind the clock face before reaching the summit where you will view the world famous Great Abel and enjoy spectacular panoramic views across the city, The Pennines, The Cheshire Plain and beyond.
All tours are provided by a registered Blue Badge Tour Guide and lasts approximately one hour. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted. Children aged between 12-16 must be accompanied by an adult.
