Get bin reminders and latest information

If you live in a home with your own wheelie bins in one of our council areas, you can sign up to receive emailed bin alerts.

These are messages sent to your email address to:

  • remind you which bins to put out each week, and when
  • remind you what goes in each bin
  • let you know if there are any issues with bin collections in your area and what you should do.

You may also be contacted about:

  • any changes to bin collections
  • how to recycle at Christmas, including recycling real Christmas trees.

How to sign up

You can register for one property per email address. To register more than one property, you will need to use a different email address.

More than one email address can receive alerts for the same property.

To change your address, enter your new post code and resubscribe (this will replace your previous sign up).

If you receive the wrong information in your bin alert email, or if you think you should be able to sign up but are not able to, please contact the bins, rubbish and recycling service to let us know.

Who can’t sign up?

You will not be able to sign up if you have shared bins. For example, if you live in an apartment/flat or have bins in alleyways.
