Fun in The Rain

Keeping up with a blog seems to need more free time than I have available (MEN journalists don't seem to have this problem) so apologies to those who have been watching this space since 25th May.

I'm going to do a late May infill but on with Sunday 1st June for now. This afternoon is Herristone Park Fun Day, which after a gloriously sunny event last year returns to normal with some very wet fun. I do feel for the local residents, especially the Friends of Herristone Park, who put so much voluntary effort into the event but they don't let it get them down, and there are lots of people in the park having a good time. For those who haven't noticed, our satellite town down the East Lancs is European Capital of Culture this year. Manchester supported their bid and I am delighted that it is going so well for Liverpool. I also want to visibly support during the year so its great to have the opportunity to attend the Paul McCartney concert at Anfield. It's a great night with tremendous performances but I still can't work out the connection between support band, the Kaiser Chiefs, and the Liverpool sound - can anybody help me.
