Apply to Join the Making Manchester Fairer Community Forum
Do you care about your community and want to help shape Manchester's future?
We're looking for new members to join the Making Manchester Fairer (MMF) Community Forum. This is an opportunity for people from all backgrounds and experiences to share their views and help influence decisions that affect Manchester residents.
We want the Forum to reflect the diversity of our city, so we're particularly keen to hear from new voices and people who can bring different perspectives to the conversation.
As a Forum member, you'll have the chance to:
- Share your experiences, ideas and opinions.
- Help shape how opportunities and health outcomes are improved across Manchester.
- Work alongside existing Forum members and senior decision-makers within the MMF programme.
- Influence decisions that affect you, your family, your friends and your community.
If you're passionate about making Manchester a fairer place and can attend regular meetings, we'd love to hear from you.
What is involved?
Forum members are expected to:
- Attend one meeting each month (except April and August).
- Meetings take place at a city centre location and alternate between:
- 12pm to 2pm, and
- 6pm to 8pm
- Take part in additional opportunities throughout the year, including attending:
- Council Scrutiny Committees
- The Health and Wellbeing Board
- The MMF Programme Board
Payment and support
We want to make it as easy as possible for people to take part.
Forum members will receive:
- Payment at the Real Living Wage rate (£13.45 per hour) for time spent attending meetings.
- Payment for travel time to and from meetings (up to two hours in total).
- Reimbursement of travel costs.
- Support with access requirements, including translators, support workers and childcare where needed.
