    Market Street is one of the principal retail streets in the city. It is a pedestrian zone bustling with shoppers and commuters on their way to work. It is flanked by major high street stores and the Arndale Centre, one of the largest shopping centres in the UK, with 41 million visitors annually. Market Street is the main thoroughfare located directly on the pedestrian routes from both Piccadilly Station and Victoria Station. The average weekend footfall is in excess of 200,000.

  9. Vehicle access

    Access is via Princess Street, turning onto Cooper Street/Fountain Street and then turning left onto Market Street.  In exceptional circumstances access can be made available from Cross Street.
     
    Once vehicles are unloaded, they must leave Market Street via Cross Street (straight ahead). Wait for the green light to show indicating bollards have lowered completely. 
     
    Bollards are in operation at the top of Fountain Street between 11am and 7pm so vehicular access back onto the site for load out needs to be after 7pm.

  10. Loading times

    Vehicle access onto public spaces should be before 8am and leave after 7pm. Exceptions to this apply when consent has been given, or you have been instructed to move by us or the police.

    Bollards are in operation at the top of Fountain Street between 11am and 7pm, so vehicular access onto the site for load out needs to be after 7pm.
