Heywood Street and Galsworthy Avenue

The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers being satisfied that the conditions set out in Section 129A (3) of the Act have been met hereby makes the following Order:

Except as provided in Article 2 to this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the Alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

The restriction in Article 1 to this Order shall not apply to any person who lives in premises adjoining the Highways or to any police, ambulance or fire service personnel acting in pursuance of statutory powers or duties or to any statutory undertaker, gas, electricity, water or communications provider requiring access to their apparatus situated in the Highways.

Barriers may be installed, operated and maintained at each end of the Highways. Private Sector Housing, Central Operations Division is responsible for maintaining and operating any barriers. Their contact telephone number is 0161 234 4904.

The alternative routes for pedestrians and vehicular traffic which are available for use during the period the Highways are restricted are the roads specified in Schedule 2.

Alleyway behind 80 to 90 Heywood Street over the full width and with a length of 35 metres. Alleyway behind 1 to 15 Hoist Avenue over the full width and with a length of 37 metres. Alleyway behind 1 to 13 Galsworthy Avenue over the full width and with a length of 38 metres. Alleyway behind 92 and 94 Heywood Street and linking Wordsworth Avenue and Hoist Avenue commencing adjacent to 15 Wordsworth Avenue and continuing adjacent to 16 Hoist Avenue over the full width and with a length of 36 metres. Alleyway behind 2 to 16 Hoist Avenue over the full width and with a length of 41 metres. Alleyway behind 15 to 27 Galsworthy Avenue over the full width and with a length of 36 metres. Alleyway behind 1 to 17 Kelvin Grove over the full width and with a length of 45.5 metres. Alleyway behind 29 to 41 Galsworthy Avenue over the full width and with a length of 35.5 metres. Alleyway linking Huxley Avenue and Kelvin Grove commencing adjacent to 57 Huxley Avenue and continuing adjacent to 28 Kelvin Grove over the full width and with a length of 33 metres. Alleyway behind 2 to 28 Kelvin Grove over the full width and with a length of 68.5 metres.
