  3. Gating orders

    The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers being satisfied that the conditions set out in Section 129A (3) of the Act have been met hereby makes the following Order:

    Except as provided in Article 2 to this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the Alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

    The restriction in Article 1 to this Order shall not apply to any occupier of premises adjoining or adjacent to the Highways or to any person engaged on Council business, police, ambulance or fire service personnel acting in pursuance of statutory powers or duties or to any statutory undertaker, gas, electricity, water or communications provider requiring access to their apparatus situated in the Highways.

    Barriers will be installed, operated and maintained at the sides of 6 and 8 Brundretts Road, 12 and 14 Brundretts Road, 24 and 26 Brundretts Road, 30 and 32 Brundretts Road and to the rear of 4 Brundretts Road and 34 Brundretts Road. Private Sector Housing, Central Operations Division is responsible for maintaining and operating any barriers. Their contact telephone number is 0161 234 4904.

    The alternative route which is available for use by pedestrians during the period the Highways are restricted are the existing footways of Groby Road, Brundretts Road, Brabham Close and the alleyway to the rear of 36 to 44 Brundretts Road.

  8. Date of effect

    This Order shall take effect on 7 December 2010.

  9. Alleyways to be gated

    Alleyway to the rear of 4 to 30 Brundretts Road with a length of 78 metres for its full width. Alleyway between 6 and 8 Brundretts Road with a length of 33 metres for its full width. Alleyway between 12 and 14 Brundretts Road with a length of 26 metres for its full width. Alleyway between 24 and 26 Brundretts Road with a length of 33 metres for its full width. Alleyway between 30 and 32 Brundretts Road with a length of 40 metres for its full width. Alleyway to the rear of 32 to 34 Brundretts Road with a length of 28 metres for its full width.
