Samuel Street

The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 ( "the Act") and of all other enabling powers being satisfied that the conditions set out in Section 129A (3) of the Act have been met hereby makes the following Order:

Except as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

The restriction in Article 1 shall not apply to any person who lives in premises adjoining the Highway or to any police, ambulance or fire service personnel acting in pursuance of statutory powers or duties or to any statutory undertaker, gas, electricity, water or communications provider requiring access to their apparatus situated in the Highway.

Barriers will be installed, operated and maintained to the rear boundary of 997 Stockport Road and 1 Samuel Street, to the front and rear side of 1 Samuel Street, to the side of 2 Samuel Street, to the side of 9 Samuel Street, to the side of 12 Samuel Street, and to the side of 1 Kersh Avenue. Private Sector Housing, Central Operations Division is responsible for maintaining and operating any barriers. Their contact telephone number is 0161 245 7850.

The alternative route which is available for use by pedestrians during the period the Highways are restricted are the existing footways of Stockport Road, Marley Road, Kersh Avenue and Samuel Street.

Alleyway located to the rear of 987-997 Stockport Road for an approximate length of 29 metres and for its full width. Alleyway situated to the side of 1 Samuel Street for an approximate length of 16 metres and for its full width. Alleyway situated to the side of 9 Samuel Street for an approximate length of 16 metres and width varying between 2.5 metres and 3.5 metres. Alleyway situated to the side of 2 Samuel Street and 1 Kersh Avenue for an approximate length of 36 metres and for its full width. Alleyway located to the rear of 2-12 Samuel Street for an approximate length of 25 metres and for its full width. Alleyway situated to the side of 12 Samuel Street for an approximate length of 20 metres and for its full width.
