  3. Gating orders

    The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers being satisfied that the conditions set out in Section 129A (3) of the Act have been met hereby makes the following Order:

    Except as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

    The restriction in Article 1 of this Order shall not apply to any occupier of premises adjoining or adjacent to the Highways or to any person engaged on Council business, to police, ambulance or fire service personnel acting in pursuance of statutory powers or duties or to any statutory undertaker, gas, electricity, water or communications provider requiring access to their apparatus situated in the Highways

    Barriers will be installed, operated and maintained at the south end of the Highway marked '1' on the Plan, to the rear of 207 Thornton Road and 204 Horton Road, to the rear of 193 Thornton Road and 188 Horton Road and at the north end of the Highway marked '3' on the Plan.     The alternative routes for pedestrians and vehicles which are available for use during the period the Highways are restricted are existing footways of Thornton Road and Horton Road and the alleys located to the side of 177/179 Thornton Road, the rear of 176

  8. Date of effect

    This Order shall take effect on the 28 May 2012.

    Alleyway situated to the side of 202/204 Horton Road for an approximate length of 17 metres, and for the full width. Alleyway situated to the rear of 188-204 Horton Road and 193
