  5. About this library

    The stunning new library opened in August 2023. It offers a welcoming cultural and creative space for the whole community, with great books for adults and children, including books in Urdu. There is free high-quality access to the Internet, and free Wi-Fi, plus printing. There is also an exciting and diverse events programme for all ages, including the very popular Storytime. The speedy self-issue and return technology means it is available seven days a week, even when libraries staff aren’t here – all in a bright, modern space.

    And that’s not to mention everything you can do at the new leisure facility including: a six-lane swimming pool, learner pool, steam room and sauna, two squash courts, health and fitness suites, (including gyms and studios), sports hall, changing facilities, along with the first Indoor Urban Cricket Centre in the city.

    Story time for under 5s runs weekly during term time only, on Tuesday from 11am to 11:30am
