Mobile elevated working platform/cherry picker permit (MEWP)

  1. Summary

    A permit is required if you want to use a mobile platform or cherry picker on the highway (road/pavement).

    Traffic Management Approvals are required in advance please contact highwaynetworkmanagement@manchester.gov.uk

    Only apply for a MEWP from us if the location fails within Manchester City Council check which council. 

  2. Fees

    • £86 up to 7 days per MEWP

  4. Attachments required

    • Public liability insurance, minimum cover £10million; and
    • A scale plan of the site showing the position of the structure/obstruction on the road/pavement

    Applications should include Evidence of valid 'Public Liability' Insurance (not less than £10 million) and a scale plan of the site showing the position of the structure/obstruction on the highway/road.
