What personal information does this service use?
This service uses personal information about you, such as your name, address, telephone number(s) and email address(es).
In order to provide our service and match you and your family with the best support for your particular needs, we also need to collect some information about you which is more sensitive (known as special category personal information’). This may include information about you and your child(ren)’s:
- ethnicity
- language
- nationality
- information related to physical or mental health, including any disabilities or additional needs.
This information is voluntary but helps us and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to monitor who is using the system. The GMCA only have access to statistical information not the data itself.

What is your personal information used for?
The Council uses your personal data for the following reasons:
- to enable you to create an account on the system
- to promote the services we provide - if we have links with a service that we think would help you and your family
- to promote services provided by other organisations that we think would help you and your family
- to provide an online library that will enable staff to provide resources for parents.

What is the lawful basis we are relying on?
We collect and use this information under Article 6 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (‘UK GDPR’).
In order to provide our voluntary service, we need to collect and use personal information about you so we can promote the right support services to you in the performance of a task carried out in the public interest. (Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR).
We also collect some special category personal information about you. This will enable us to promote additional services to you and your families. Your special categories of personal data are processed in accordance with Article 9(2)(g) of the UK GDPR as the processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest to enable us to fulfil our duties under the Children Act 1989.

The personal information we hold will come directly from you when you sign up to the platform.

Who will we share your personal information with?
Your personal data is not shared with third parties in an identifiable form. Statistical information about the use of the system and characteristics of users may be shared with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
