  1. Ward-specific objectives

    Nature and Biodiversity:

    • Create a green walking route that links parks and local places in Crumpsall by the end of summer 2025.
    • Run biodiversity surveys with the community along the new green walking route by April 2026. Use the results to create signs and wayfinders.

    Young People:

    • Run at least one climate change workshop with school pupils by July 2025.
    • Do a seed planting activity with young people at the Shaping Spaces event in April 2025.
    • Help at least one school join the Eco-Schools scheme by July 2025.

    Transport, Active Travel, Air Quality:

    • Run two Dr Bike sessions: one in a school and one at a community event by April 2026.
    • Make the green walking route age-friendly so older residents can enjoy it too by the end of summer 2025.

    Things We Buy, Use and Bin:

    • Organise a community trip to the Renew Hub by the end of 2025.
    • Invite Biffa to all community events with their recycling games and activities by April 2026.

    Food:

    • Take a group of children to visit Rainbow Surprise’s garden to learn about growing food by August 2025.
    • Set up at least one new community vegetable garden in Crumpsall by the end of 2025.

    Homes and Energy:

    • Make sure all Neighbourhood Events include energy and debt advice by April 2026.
    • Share retrofit tips and the government’s retrofit website at all events by April 2026.

    Engagement, Raising Awareness, Influencing Change:

    • Fund at least two local climate projects through the Neighbourhood Investment Fund by April 2026.
    • Include climate change news, tips, and local events in every issue of the We Love Cheetham and Crumpsall newsletter.
