Health and wellbeing GM Live Well in Manchester

GM Live Well is a partnership across Greater Manchester. It brings together councils, the NHS, community organisations and residents.

Its aim is to make everyday support available in every neighbourhood. To achieve that:

  • the partnership takes a community-led approach. Support is shaped by local people and run by local groups. Particularly voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations.
  • There's a big focus on prevention. The partnership aims to tackle the root causes that affect health and wellbeing. Like poor mental health and poverty.

What does this mean for Manchester?

GM Live Well will focus on three areas:

  • Harpurhey
  • Miles Platting and Newton Heath
  • Gorton Hub

In all three areas, the approach will:

  • be designed with communities and services
  • build on existing support, filling gaps where needed
  • connect services, so people get joined‑up help.
