Competitive pay and allowances: we offer great pay. We also give extra allowances, like a prom allowance.
Reliable income: we always have children who need homes. This means you will have a steady income. Our foster carers are always contacted first when children need a foster family.
Local support: our Manchester carers are supported by Manchester children’s social workers and Manchester fostering service supervising social workers.
Support networks and hives: we link foster carers at support groups across the city, and membership to our fostering hives.
Refer-a-friend scheme: refer someone to foster with us. Get £500 when they're approved.
Leisure: our carers and children have discounted access to our Manchester Better leisure centres.
Current rate of allowance: if you have a Manchester child placed with you, you'll keep your current rate for the length of care for each child.
Find out what transferring involves
We understand you might have questions before you transfer. We're happy to have a confidential chat about your circumstances. This will help you make the right decision. We won't approach your agency without your agreement.
You can transfer to us if you have a child in your care who is not a Manchester child, however, you must have space in your home to welcome a Manchester child as well.
Tell your agency
Notify your agency: inform your fostering agency in writing that you intend to transfer. We may contact them for a reference.
Single agency rule: you can't foster for more than one agency. So, you'll need to tell your current agency.
Meet your agency: if you have a foster child with you now, we'll meet your agency. This is to check how your transfer would affect each child in your care.
