The Council and democracy Our commitment to being a trans and non-binary inclusive workplace

We are a trans and non-binary inclusive workplace

We have made a commitment to being an inclusive workplace, which means we will always protect and support trans and non-binary people as equal members of staff. And we will enable trans and non-binary people to thrive both in the workplace and in our communities.

We recognise that trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary individuals are non-binary. This includes adopting an inclusive way of working in how the Council commissions and delivers services that meet the needs of our trans population.

Manchester is a place that celebrates diversity, and we are a place that has always been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ equality.

We believe our different communities can make our city stronger and the Our Manchester strategy has enshrined our commitment to creating a progressive and equitable city.

This means supporting all our residents to thrive as a truly equal and inclusive place to live.
