E-magazines

Read full digital copies of magazines for free from your computer, smartphone or tablet. Thousands of magazines are available covering a wide range of interests.  Titles include:

  • Hello!
  • BBC Good Food
  • Amateur Photographer
  • BBC Top Gear
  • Horrible Histories
  • Cosmopolitan

There are also magazines available in Arabic, Chinese and some European Languages.

Borrow an unlimited number of magazines to keep forever or delete when you want.

You can refine your preferences by format, subject, language, audience and availability, to suit your needs.

You can use this service if you're a member of any Greater Manchester Library. Once registered, you will be automatically logged in to enjoy our content.

Getting started for new customers on your mobile device:

  1. Download and open the ‘Libby by Overdrive’ app to your mobile phone or tablet
  2. The first question is ‘Do you have a library card?’
  3. Look up your library, we are listed as ‘Manchester Public Library, Central Library, St Peters Square, England UK’
  4. Enter your library account details.
  5. Enter the requested library card details and your PIN.
  6. You can now search and download your favourite magazines.

Getting started for new customers on your computer:

Go to the Manchester webpage of the Libby by Overdrive site.

  1. Go to 'Sign in' and enter the requested library card details and your PIN.
  2. You can now search and download your favourite magazines.

Manchester also has a limited selection of E audio and E books on this site.
