Free swimming for Manchester residents

If you are aged 60 or over, you can enjoy free swimming in Manchester every day, all year round during general swim sessions. And if you're aged 16 or under then you can enjoy free swimming during all school holidays, in general swim sessions. 

To get a free swimming pass, you need to be: 

  • over 60 or aged 16 and under; and
  • live in City of Manchester.

To register visit your local pool that offers 'free swimming', use the iPad in reception, a member of staff can help you if needed. If you currently have a swim pass and are a manchester resident, you do not need to re-register.

When you register you need to provide: 

  • proof of age (bus pass, driving licence, passport, birth certificate): and
  • proof of where you live (utility bill, such as your council tax bill, gas bill etc).

Active Aqua

Active Aqua is a physical activity instructor led programme designed to help improve the health and wellbeing of Manchester residents with a focus on the inactive. The programme is a great way to introduce beginners of all ages to swimming sessions or if it's been a while since you've swam, it's a great way to welcome you back to the pool and help you regain your confidence in the water.
