Sport, exercise and keeping fit
Sport and exercise isn't only good for your health - it's also a great way to socialise.

- Free swimming - if you are aged 60 or over, you can enjoy free swimming in Manchester every day, all year round
- Dementia friendly swimming - a safe and supportive environment to swim for people living with dementia and those caring for them

- Social life and community group directory - our up to date list of community and social groups aimed at older people
- Use a computer for free (locations across the city) - pay a bill, get public transport information, get in touch with friends and family
- Get books at home - Books to Go provide a home delivery service for eligible Manchester residents
- North City Nomads - a social group for residents living, or using facilities, in north Manchester
- Campaign to End Loneliness - information and resources from a leading organisation tackling loneliness, supported by the Council
Groups for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Communities
- Out in the City - supporting members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities
- Bloomers Older Women's Group - a friendly, informal group for women who identify as older (they would not turn anyone away of a certain age but suggest over 40)
- Older and Bolder - a group aimed at older men who identify as gay, bisexual or questioning
- Icebreakers - a self-help, mutual support group for gay and bi-sexual men aged 18 to 80 plus
