About Age-Friendly Manchester

Age-Friendly Manchester is a partnership involving organisations, groups and individuals across the city playing their part in making Manchester a great place to grow older.

Age-Friendly Manchester builds on the Valuing Older People programme, launched in 2003, and the ten year Manchester Ageing Strategy, published in 2009 and then updated in 2017.  Age-friendly is an internationally recognised concept that enables good quality of life for older people, and is supported by a World Health Organisation movement of over 200 age-friendly cities and communities worldwide.
