People and communities Giving something back

At a time of giving, it’s nice to extend that generosity a little further. If you’d like to help others who might be lonely, vulnerable or in need this Christmas, there are lots of options. Your local place of worship or schools might have their own campaign, or you could find out more about:

  • Manchester’s Big Change campaign funds a host of charities in Manchester that are working to end homelessness. There are several ways to help.
  • Alternatively, The Christmas Dinner is an annual project founded by the poet Lemn Sissay MBE, for communities to provide a Christmas Day for care leavers aged between 18 and 25
  • Or find out what the NHS recommends we could do to help any elderly neighbours feel less isolated.
