Get moving with the new MCRactive card!

Everyone who visits Manchester's leisure centres is being invited to sign up for the new MCRactive card – and anyone who joins the scheme before the end of the month will have the chance to win an iPad Air or annual family activity pass.

The new card is being launched as part of Manchester City Council’s drive to remove barriers to participation in sport, health and leisure activities and to encourage as wide a range of local citizens as possible to get active.

Signing up for the card is free, with no joining or annual fee. Cardholders who sign up before the end of October will be eligible for an exclusive preferential rate for pay and play sessions at sport and leisure centres across the city.

The card will be accepted in participating sport and leisure facilities across the city, from local community leisure centres and swimming pools to national centres of excellence, such as the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre, National Squash Centre and Manchester Aquatics Centre.

Anyone can register, either online or by dropping into their local centre.

Any current pay and play users who have booked and attended an activity in the past will be automatically registered as a MCRactive cardholder for future visits.

Councillor Luthfur Rahman, Executive Member for Schools, Culture and Leisure, said: “If you swim in our pools, workout in our gyms, play on our courts, or kick a ball on our pitches, then the MCRactive card is for you.

“We want to make sure that as many people as possible, of all ages and from all backgrounds, are getting active at their local sports centres.  So whether it’s for fun, or for competition, to socialise, or to pursue your personal fitness goals, sign up for the card today to enjoy exclusive rates, get active and enter the free prize draw.”
