How to use the signing service
Deaf people can call Manchester City Council using SignVideo Web Access, an online sign language interpreting service, from their own home for free. You can access Sign Video either through the free app or directly through their website.
The Video Relay Service (VRS) allows hearing and deaf people to communicate via telephone.
Using SignVideo
- You'll need the SignVideo app on one of the following devices:
- You will need to have a web camera on the device you're using
- You will also need a good internet connection
- A minimum of 2Mbps upload and download speed is recommended for a smooth experience
How to use SignVideo
Follow the steps below to make your phone call in BSL:
- Access the SignDirectory either through the app or the Sign Video Website.
- Use the directory to find the Manchester City Council Service you would like to access.
- As you select the service, you will be connected to an interpreter.
