Notice is hereby given:

  1. Elections of Councillors are to be held for the following Wards.
  2. The number of Councillors to be elected are as shown in this table.

  3. Nomination papers are to be delivered to the Returning Officer in the Performance Space, Manchester Central Library, St Peter’s Square, Manchester, M2 5PD on any day after the date of this notice, Monday to Friday (excluding bank and public holidays) between 9am and 5pm, but by no later than 4 pm on Tuesday 5 April 2022. Nomination papers may be obtained from that place, during the times stated above.
  4. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 5 May 2022.
  5. Applications to be included in the register of electors must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Thursday 14 April 2022, if they are to be effective for the election. Applications may be made via the online registration service at: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or sent directly to the Electoral Registration Officer at the Electoral Services Unit, Town Hall Extension, Manchester, M60 2LA.
  6.  All applications and notices in respect of postal voting, and those in respect of changes to (including cancellation of) existing proxy voting arrangements (except insofar as changes may be made on relevant coronavirus grounds), must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Electoral Services Unit, Town Hall Extension, Manchester, M60 2LA by 5 pm on Tuesday 19 April 2022, if they are to be effective for the election.
  7. All new applications to vote by proxy (except those applied for on relevant emergency grounds or relevant coronavirus grounds) must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Electoral Services Unit, Town Hall Extension, Manchester, M60 2LA by 5pm on Tuesday 26 April 2022, if they are to be effective for the election.
  8. All applications to vote by proxy on relevant emergency grounds (disability occurring after 5 pm on Tuesday 26 April 2022; grounds relating to the applicant’s occupation, service or employment, where the applicant became aware of those grounds after 5 pm on Tuesday 26 April 2022; or detention under civil powers as a mental health patient) must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Electoral Services Unit, Town Hall Extension, Manchester, M60 2LA by 5 pm on Thursday 5 May 2022, if they are to be effective for the election.
  9. All applications to vote by proxy, or to alter existing proxy arrangements by changing the person who is appointed as a proxy, on relevant coronavirus grounds must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Electoral Services Unit, Town Hall Extension, Manchester, M60 2LA by 5 pm on Thursday 5 May 2022, if they are to be effective for the election.
