Key performance indicator spotlight
Despite all the challenges presented by COVID-19, community groups, Councillors, Council staff and environmental organisations have worked together across the city to ensure every neighbourhood in Manchester has thriving big trees.
Tree Planting (October 2021 – May 2022 planting season):
- 4401 trees planted
- 2620 small hedge trees planted
- 8 Community Orchard planted
- £150k additional funding secured
- 10% increase in the numbers of MCC managed street and highway trees
