What is Open Data
Open data is the idea that certain data should be freely available to everyone to use and republish as they wish, without restrictions from copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control.
What this means for Manchester
Manchester City Council has a strong commitment to open data as part of our drive to become one of the world's leading digital cities. As such we are engaging with a variety of organisations and partaking in a number of projects relating to “Open Data” to help us achieve this goal.
Whilst we have published a range of data sets, which we believe support transparency and accountability, we welcome any feedback and/or requests for the release of specific data sets from you our public. Please email any requests to: opendata@manchester.gov.uk and we will try to publish these.

Note: The use of all Manchester City Council data is subject to those conditions as outlined in the specific licence attributed to each data set.
