Getting a job

To help you get a job, you’ll get:

  • ‘ring-fenced’ opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships and jobs in Manchester City Council (this means care leavers will get first dibs on them, before other people are considered).
  • support from organisations that specialise in interview preparation and providing appropriate clothing for job interviews.
  • help writing your CV, job applications and personal statement.
  • work experience, taster days and apprenticeships with local employers.
  • money towards your travel costs to job interviews, if you’ve got no other way to get there.
  • advice and support to get on to college courses which could make it easier for you to get a job.

Get in touch with your Personal Adviser if you would like to access any of these, or come along to one of our drop in sessions.

We will celebrate your achievements at an annual celebration events and in a personal way when you complete significant qualifications.
