Health and Wellbeing

We’ll support you in lots of ways to stay physically and mentally healthy by offering:

  • a ‘health summary’ for you when you leave care, which will give you your health history.
  • money towards your prescriptions. Your Personal Adviser will consider any requests.
  • help to register with health services and access mental health services.
  • a member of the Leaving Care Team to come with you to medical appointments, if you want.
  • extra help if you’re a young parent.
  • free contraceptives, sometimes called birth control.
  • money towards glasses and the dentists, when needed.
  • advice and information about healthy living.
  • free or discounted access to some Manchester leisure facilities like gyms and swimming pools.
  • opportunities to participate in your community, meet other care leavers and have a say on the service we provide to you.

If you have any questions or concerns about your health you could speak to your Personal Adviser, chat to a health worker at one of our drop-ins, or go to your GP.
