The Council and democracy Vote in person at a polling station

You can only vote at your allocated polling station. Details are on the poll card we send you. Photo ID is needed for all elections.

You can also visit the Where Do I Vote website to find where your polling station is.

Most polling stations have flat access, a ramp or lift. Staff at the entrance will be able to help if needed.

Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm on polling day.

The address of your polling station will be on your poll card. You'll get it in the post a few weeks before an election. Polling stations are often schools, halls or other public buildings near your home.

You can take your own pen or pencil if you want to.

You must bring photo ID to show to the polling station staff. The name on your photo ID should be the same as on your voter registration.
