European Parliament Election - 23 May 2019
The European Parliament Election is currently scheduled to take place on the 23 May 2019 with registered voters in Manchester voting for MEPs in the North West constituency. Further information about this election, including a list of candidates can be found on the North West Votes website.

To vote in this election you must have registered by the end of Tuesday 7 May 2019. Check if you're registered to vote.
The deadline to vote by post for this election was 5pm 8 May 2019.
The deadline to appoint a proxy for this election was 5pm 15 May 2019.
Who is eligible to vote?
You must be registered to vote, 18 years of age or over on polling day also be one of the following:
- a British citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of the European Union
- resident in the UK
- a UK citizen living abroad who has been registered to vote in the UK in the last 15 years
- not be subject to any legal incapacity to vote
EU nationals have the option to vote either in their home country or here in the UK. To vote in the UK you must have been registered to vote and completed UC1 form by the end ofTuseday 7 May 2019
If you haven’t already registered for an overseas postal vote then we recommend you nominate a proxy to vote on your behalf. This is because of the short time between the election being announced and polling day. To act as your proxy, you will need to nominate someone who currently resides in the UK and is already registered to vote themselves. The deadline to nominate a proxy is 5pm Wednesday 15 May, but please note that if your proxy once appointed has to vote at your designated polling station in Manchester, so the last polling station you voted at while registered to vote in the United Kingdom.
If you already have an overseas postal vote but would like to nominate a proxy, they will need to be registered to vote in the UK. You must let us know before 5pm Wednesday 8 May as this is the deadline for amendments to existing postal votes.
